A Writer, Content Creator, and Strategist
Looking for my next
opportunity
to make an impact through storytelling.

This is me
My name is Madison Williams; I am senior Strategic Communications Major with a minor in Leadership Studies from Hampton University. Writing has been a massive part of my life since childhood. I was always drawn to the unique stories created by people who looked like me. My passion for writing and storytelling has allowed me to work with several media publications in writing, editing, and video production. Most of my work highlights the importance of the African American experience and rediscovers what it means to be a black writer/creator. As I continue to pursue a career in entertainment, I intend to be the reason that positive representation of the Black community in entertainment becomes the norm and why you see more black stories portrayed in the media.

Discover the Unexpected: Dallas Examiner Videos
As a Journalism Content Creation Intern, I was paired with the Dallas Examiner for a 10-week fellowship creating content for print news and social media to uplift Black voices while enticing the Chevrolet brand.

Beats Black Creator Program
With Black Futurism as the theme, I was a script writer amongst a team of #BeatsBlackCreators who spent four months writing and executing our short film as a team. The artistry and unique POV are on full display in our short film. "Black Star," a person and a place, is an insightful story of creative liberation by facing one's fears and trusting in oneself.

Strategic
Campaigns

Working as a Warner Bros. Campus Ambassador, I have been able to create and execute campaigns on the following films, for my campus community.

Campaign Presentations
Here is an in depth look at a few more of the college campaign elements our student team created, presented and pitched to marketing/pr leadership at Warner Bros. Discovery.
Below are a few images from different social campaigns where I partnered with students on campus to promote films.

The HBCU in LA Internship Program provides a select group of diverse student leaders the opportunity to participate in a paid 8-10-week immersive internship. Providing experience essential for launching and leveraging a career inside Hollywood’s coveted inner circle.
Through HBCU in LA, I was paired with NBCUniversal as an Executive Connect Intern for a year-long rotational program designed to give access to underrepresented students seeking a pathway to leadership in the entertainment industry. I was able to rotate through three core business groups that are essential areas to shape future studio leaders – Business Affairs, International Distribution and Production Development.

Case Study Assignment
In my final rotation with the NBCU Executive Connect Program in the Focus Features Production Development sector, I was tasked with a final project.
My assignment was to conduct an intellectual property (IP) deep dive and present a story that aligns with Focus’ brand and mission for development.
At the end of the program, I presented alongside of my cohort to a group of industry professionals.
